Lakeside Triathlon Report

10 EVT members took to the waters, roads and tracks of Worcester to take part in the Worcester Lakeside Triathlon.

After heavy rainfall through the night, the weather was good to us and shone through the whole event. For some it was a first adventure into open water racing, so big well done for surviving that, there is nothing quite like a mass swim start!!. Then is was out on to the roads where what has been described as a bumpy course (not too sure if they meant hills or road surface) was waiting for us. I think its fair to say we all found it a tough bike course. The run was off road round the grounds and lake and there was a lot of support for each other on the course. Every one of us finished with a smile on our faces (shear relief I think its called).

All of us survived with no major injuries… or none that we can publish anyway, isn’t that right Mel?

Great result from Mel Betts again winning her age group (round of applause please) and a big well done to Tasha and Alison on your first open water triathlon and Elaine for your first standard distance.

Gaff of the day goes to Stuart for getting his tri suit cord stuck in his wetsuit zip and having to ask for help to get undressed in T1…learning point for us all there with the new suits.

All in all a great event with great friends and great team spirit. It didn’t matter if you were leading or lagging behind each and every one wearing EVT gave it their best and for that as a club we can hold our heads high.
